Mandy Mitchell, from the Pacific Northwest, has been one of my all-time favorite stars for a few years now. One of the first things that struck me about Mandy was that she has wholesome good looks, yet she has a kinky side to rival that of any old-guard bdsm expert. I saw her first at Sammy Mancini’s Shemale Strokers, next at Grooby’s Shemale Yum and was glad to see that she also ran her own fantastic website.I was excited about Mandy TGirl because aside from having an opportunity to see more photos and videos of her in action, I’d also get to know more about Mandy herself. It wasn’t just the pretty blue eyes, sleek figure, perky breasts and beautiful cock that made her so attractive to me. I was excited about Mandy TGirl because aside from having an opportunity to see more photos and videos of her in action, I’d also get to know more about Mandy herself. I’d seen a lot of Mandy’s contributions to webmaster and fan forums. Instead of just posting announcements about her new website updates, she was often making intelligent contributions to conversations that many others wouldn’t dare try to jump into. After finding out she was definitely a bright light, I learned that Mandy was attracted to people of all body types, sizes, colors and genders. She’d also lived in the South and on the East coast like me and I felt that we’d click if we ever bumped into another online. Well, we did. I told her how I was a big fan and she was very humble, friendly and open to speak freely. I was thrilled that Mandy took out the time to let me ask questions about her I’ve been dying to ask for ages. So here’s my interview with Mandy Mitchell:
Caramel: Not to put you on a pedestal or make you feel uncomfortable, but you’re one of the brightest people I know of anywhere. I know that you’re very well-read and you’re at the top of my list of people I’d like to read the Sunday morning paper with over coffee. What sources of information do go to the most to stimulate your mind an keep you up to date with politics and other current events?
Mandy: Thanks! I used to read a whole lot more current events and history than I have been lately. I go through periods where I read small lefty periodicals, the major US papers like the NYT or the Washington Post, the Guardian and the Independent (British papers) sometimes Al Ahram (an Egyptian paper) and occasionally Haaretz as well. Lately I’ve ended up listening to a lot of news on KBOO (a local Portland radio station), and for a small community radio station they have a decent news team. My girlfriend subscribes to the New Yorker, so I occasionally pick one of those up if nothing else is around.
Caramel: How did you break into modeling in the adult industry? Did you send photos to a website or begin by working on your own website?
Mandy: I was contacted by Frank Drachmann who is a photographer for Shemaleyum and our first shoot went really well. Grooby hired me for a couple more photo shoots, and I realized I really loved being in front of the camera,so I decided to start a website with Frank and began contacting other companies to work with at the same time.
Caramel: I love Frank’s TGirl World, Shemale Yum and all the other sites from Steven Gallon’s Grooby Productions.
Mandy: Grooby has always treated me really well and I’ve enjoyed working on their websites as well as shooting Buddy Wood’s Shemale Cuties Who Love It Up Their Booties (my first hardcore release on DVD). Grooby has been very helpful over the years and was willing to promote me when most other companies wouldn’t give me the time of day.
Caramel: One of the difficulties I find with being attracted to men, women and other transsexuals is settling down with one person. Has this ever been a problem for you or does it present a problem for you today?
Mandy: Settling down, yes; being with one person, no. I’ve been in a non-monogamous relationship with my lover Sarah for the past 4+ years and neither of us has ever wanted to be in an exclusive relationship.
Caramel: Sarah is one beautiful young lady.
Mandy: Yes, I’m a very lucky girl. Its kind of awesome that I have dirty movies that I can watch of me fucking the person who turns me on more than anyone else. I’m really glad I was able to share that chemistry with the rest of the world.
Caramel: You’ve traveled a lot. Where are some of your favorite places to travel to?
Mandy: This is a tough one. There are places that I’ve been that are indescribably beautiful (where I live comes pretty close to that), and then there are the places where I go to be with friends. I tend to travel to San Francisco and Tennessee to be with my friends quite a bit. It’s been years, but I have very fond memories of Austin and New Orleans. Lately I mostly just travel up and down the West Coast.
Caramel: This is a shot in the dark, but I’d bet anything that you have an eclectic taste in music. What sort of music do you like?
Mandy: All kinds of music. I like to play classical music on the piano and lately I’ve been playing al ot of Tom Waits tunes with musician friends of mine. I really like French pop from the 60’s and 70’s. Music from the 60’s and early 70’s in general all over the world was pretty amazing . Some of my other favorite musicians are Nina Simone, Marianne Faithfull, Nick Cave, The Magnetic Fields, and Will Oldham. I’m kind of a music nerd, so I’m going to cut myself off here.
Caramel: I could go on talking about music forever, too. I know what appeals to me about you the most physically. You have a sweet smile, but look like you get into some mischief and you also have a wonderfully feminine form. What qualities do your other fans tell you they love most about you?
Mandy: I hear a lot of different things. Many people love my small, hormone-grown tits. Others love that I had my testicles removed. Some guys say they love how dominant I am, and then others write me equally appreciative about how submissive I am. Then of course there are those that love tall women.
Caramel: Have you always had a fast metabolism or are you have a specific diet regimen?
Mandy: I’ve been vegetarian for the last 15 years, but other than that my diet consists of trying to eat as much as I possibly can.
Caramel: One of my favorite sets of you at Mandy TGirl shows you reading about Shibari (rope play used in bdsm practices). When were you first intrigued by bdsm and what was your “Domination and Submission 101″ so to speak?
Mandy: I started thinking about a lot of that stuff in my late teens and early 20’s and started to spend time with many other kinky, sexually adventurous queer people. I don’t know if I have ever had a “Domination and Submission 101″ although that sounds fun. I played with my lovers, and with some strangers as well, and developed my relationship to bdsm over time. I’m queer, and its a pretty normal part of my life. Most of my friends are kinky and have been for a long time.
Caramel: I find that some of the best Dom(mes) have experienced submission themselves at some point. Do you think it’s possible for someone to be a good Master or Mistress if they’ve never known what it’s like to be a submissive?
Mandy: I don’t have a strong opinion on the matter one way or the other. But if I have to give my opinion, I will say that yes I think it is possible. It is totally possible. I think if I met someone like that I would probably want them to be my submissive, just because I always want what is improbable or out of reach.
Caramel: When it comes to role play, would you consider yourself a “switch?”
Mandy: Yes. I like to be Dominant and at times I like to be submissive. Both fulfill pretty important needs in my life. Although I don’t think I’ve even begun to explore the depths of my submissive nature. I’ve always liked getting tied up, beaten and fucked, but I’ve become much more open to the idea of really allowing someone to engage me mentally in a Domme/sub manner. I’ve always been very resistant to that idea, but lately I’ve been craving it.
Caramel: Does anyone ever try to pressure you to do more glamour shoots?
Mandy: Not really. Occasionally I get spam from photographers who want me to pay them for glamour photos. I think all someone would have to do is ask, and I’d probably give it a shot.
Caramel: You’ve just added a sizzling update to your website with Kasha Bell, the 18 year old lifestyle submissive who’s been modeling for bdsm sites. Did you do the shoot in L.A.?
Mandy: We did. I was in L.A. a couple of weeks ago and I was hanging out with a friend of mine after several long and amazing shoots (one with a fucking machine for Bob’s Tgirls, a hardcore scene for a new site Wendy Williams is doing, and a couple others) and I was telling him how badly I wanted to shoot a scene with a non-trans girl while I was in town. It turned out he had been talking with an 18 year old goth girl who was really wanting to film a scene with a TS, and thus I was introduced to Kasha. Not only did we shoot an incredible scene, we even ended up fucking again later that night after we turned the camera off . In all my years of being in the adult industry I’ve never hooked up with anyone I’ve worked with just for fun (other than my girlfriend of course), so that was kind of cool. I liked Kasha and I’m hoping to do another scene with her, maybe one that is more bdsm-oriented.
Caramel: Bob is another of my favorites who sometimes does cameo appearences with his models. He must have been fun to work with.
Mandy: Yes, it was alot of fun. Bob has been filming Transsexuals for a long time and was really pleasant to work with. I ended up playing with a fucking machine for the first time in my life, and that was pretty cool.
Caramel: I adore Wendy Williams and I’m also a huge fan of the gorgeous transsexual, Delia DeLions. You two recently did a photo shoot and video that blew my mind, one of the hottest lesbian tgirl features I’ve ever seen. I couldn’t get enough, so please tell you you’ll be working together again.
Mandy: Yes, I think Delia and I will most definitely be working together again. I had a great time shooting the scene with her and her girlfriend Trixie (who shot the scene), and it’s only a matter of making our schedules align properly.
Caramel: You’ve worked for Shemale Yum, TranSex Domination, Shemale Club, Frank’s TGirl World and Sammy Mancini’s Shemale Strokers. Your feature film resume includes “Bang My Tranny Ass” parts 2 and 3, “Shemale Strokers” 24 and 31, “Summer Girls Some Are Not 7″, Buddy Wood’s “Shemale Cuties Who Love It Up Their Booties” and “Transsexual Cheerleaders” from Devil’s Film to mention a few (Some titles found at Shemale Video Direct). I’m rooting for you to win an AVN award for Transsexual Performer of the Year someday. Will you continue to make more movies with these production houses?
Mandy: I hope I will get a chance to work with all of them again. I love shooting porn. I’ve never cared much about winning awards, but if winning an award at AVN meant I got to shoot more porn, then I would be excited to win.
Caramel: Your work at TS Seduction with Omar and Johnny Rocket last year were incredibly hot. What was working at Kink’s San Francisco Armory like? Do you think you’ll do more work at Kink in the future?
Mandy: I had fun shooting for Kink, and it seems like alot of people enjoyed my scenes. Unfortunately the folks at Kink haven’t seemed all that interested in bringing me back. Admittedly I’m always asking them to shoot me as a submissive, or to shoot a scene with me and some of their female performers, and they don’t really do that…..So I’m probably shooting myself in the foot as far as them bringing me back to domme guys. Like I said earlier, I often want things that are not really feasible or allowed.. But I figure if I just keep asking for what I want, eventually someone is going to reward me, or punish me.
Caramel: Do you enjoy watching porn? If so, what are some of your favorites or favorite types of porn to watch?
Mandy: I like watching porn, but I don’t spend alot of time watching other peoples porn. I’ve really been into Kink’s new site Public Disgrace lately. The locations are fantastic, the scenes themselves are really hot. I fantasize a lot about having a budget and legal department that would enable me to shoot that kind of material. In general I like porn with multiple girls and sometimes scenes with multiple girls and a guy, or multiple guys and a girl. I also like girls with tattoo’s, anything with fisting and squirting is awesome.
Caramel: I love Kink for the edgy and bdsm content they provide also. I’ve often seen you climax twice in a row and recall you saying you could have orgasms over and over again when you feel like it. Do your partners find it hard to keep up with your libido?
Mandy: Inevitably, I convince whomever I’m fucking to stick some fingers in my ass while I jerk off. I really enjoy doing this with just about anyone. I love watching the look in peoples eyes as they feel my ass contracting while I’m cumming over and over. Nobody has ever complained.
Caramel: There’s no doubt in my mind about that. Please tell me about your beautiful train tattoo.
Mandy: I used to hop freight trains and it seemed important at the time to commemorate my experiences and what they meant to me. Plus trains are loud, and hot, and noisy. All good things. My friend Elise/Drea was the tattoo artist, I think its pretty cool that I’ve shot porn with my tattoo artist.
Caramel: What do fetishists ask you for more of (not including bdsm)? Two that I know of are foot fetishists who go nuts for you and those who love girls whose cocks defy gravity when they’re stiff.
Mandy: Nothing pops out at me.
Caramel: That’s most likely because they’re satisfied with everything you’re doing already and don’t have to ask for more.
You and I both know that gay men are not sexually attracted to transsexuals. What do you have to say about straight men who worry that they might be gay because they’re attracted to transsexuals?
Mandy: Well, I’m not straight. And I don’t really have much interest in affirming heterosexuals who are having sexual orientation crises. I think “straight” is much more of a social identity than an indicator of what someone does in bed (or the shower, or the janitors closet). I think guys should explore what turns them on, and leave fear of being gay to the 20th century. More importantly I’m an opportunist. I want as many hot and brilliant sex maniacs to sleep with as possible, so I would like lesbians to not be worried about having straight sex, and I would like straight people to not be worried about gay sex and gay guys I like to laugh about it all with. I just want to enjoy everyone so I’ll tell them what they want to hear….lol.
Caramel: What advise would you give to a transsexual trying to break into the adult industry?
Mandy: I guess it would be something that sounded feminist and reassuring like “be yourself, love your body, enjoy what you do and people will appreciate your work”. More importantly I would say, learn to live on very little money or find alternate sources of income because very few girls make enough money to survive without escorting or working second jobs.
Caramel: Sorry if this sounds like a job interview question but, What do you see yourself doing five years from now?
Mandy: I’m not exactly sure. Probably much of what I’m doing now. Maybe I’ll make a movie or write a book, I’ll definitely be playing music. I sometimes think it would be nice to continue shooting porn until I’m a granny, but I am quite capable of making radical changes in my life when opportunity knocks. I could be a talk show host, lead a phony religion, or I could hide out in the woods with my lover and never come back, really anything is possible.
Caramel: Thank you for being so candid. Naturally, I’ll keep everyone at this site posted about your new updates at Mandy TGirl, events and appearances. Your career is on fire and I’m sure it won’t be long before I’m asking you for a follow-up interview.

Gee, an interview largely focused on a woman’s intellect instead of the size of her breasts?! Heresy!! But then again women are not slaves to conventional wisdom. Women sacrifice nothing by being dynamic and intelligent as well as thoughtful and compassionate. For transsexuals, on the other hand, there is considerable sacrifice by those few struggling to be who they want to be and what they want to be. A remarkable achievement for the relative handful who accomplish it every year. It’s the one’s like Mandy with a sense of balance and dedication who is passionate and bold enough to dream it, aggressive and strong enough to pursue it, supple and versatile enough to fight for it with enough of an edge to make it so under her terms. This is a girl where confidence and purpose mesh as well as warmth and grace. And transsexuals like her are the only ones who can truthfully state when all is said and done that the sacrifice was worth the journey.
Amazing interview as always! loved the comment about leading a phony religion LOL…sense of humour and depth, she’s a great person with a lot going on….you always bring it out in your interviews Caramel!
Great interview! I love Mandy, she is an inspiration to me on improving my own look. I’m so glad I found your site Caramel.
Love, Rachel
